WHAT WE OFFER

Fascial release & soft tissue release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Our one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which our therapists use a multitude of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy Each Myofascial Release treatment session is performed directly on skin without oils or creams. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release of the fascia.

Dry needling

Dry needling is an effective technique used for the treatment of muscular spasm and myofascial pain in many areas of the body. This is an anatomical approach based on western neurophysiological principles and is not a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Spinal mobilization & manipulation

Spinal manipulation is a technique used by manual therapists that is used to treat pain in the neck or back, although it also can relieve discomforts of the musculoskeletal system, which includes all of our joints and muscles throughout the body. This therapy uses mobilisation and manipulation techniques to help restore full movement to restricted joints, as well normal elasticity to muscles and other soft tissues. Restoring mechanical and soft tissue balance benefits the structures of the entire body and its physiological mechanisms.

Kinesio taping & strapping

Kinesio tape is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time. It can be applied in hundreds of ways and has the ability to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain and inflammation, optimize performance, prevent injury and promote good circulation and healing, and assist in returning the body to homeostasis.

Pre and Post-natal consultations

Regular participation in a pre/post-natal exercise program has many benefits for a woman. Research has demonstrated that pregnant and post-partum women who exercise at a mild to moderate intensity at least three times per week experience increased cardiovascular fitness, improved well-being, reduced constipation, fewer leg cramps and a quicker return to pre-pregnancy weight compared with their non-exercising counterparts (ACOG 2002; Clapp 2002). Our all-inclusive prenatal program will assist you through all the stages of your pregnancy and help you look and feel your very best.

Ergonomic assessments & Posture rehabilitation

Ergonomics is sometimes defined as the science of fitting the work to the user instead of forcing the user to fit the work. The practice focus' on providing a detailed, tailor made assessment of the ergonomic environment. Focusing on workspace design, lighting/glare, acoustics, temperature and posture. We provide education, management, as well as, a computer software program to help with prevention and analysis of statistical data. Proper ergonomic design is necessary to prevent repetitive strain injuries and other musculoskeletal disorders, which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability.
